'Tis the Season! (almost)

This Sunday, we took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL fall/winter Northwest weather and put up our Christmas lights. It is a little early, but it was such a nice day and the boys were gone, so we had to take advantage of it. I put Becca down for a nap and hooked up the baby monitor and headed outside. (I was half hoping she wouldn't fall asleep, so I wouldn't have to get up on the roof, but no such luck- she slept for a full two hours). Here is Mark on the roof getting started- I am taking pictures in a effort to stall get up there to help. I don't know what it is, but I am completely terrified of getting up on the roof. I am not afraid of heights, and actually do fine once I am up there, but I stand on the ladder paralyzed unable to actually make the step up, and then getting down is even worse. I sit at the edge of the roof staring at the ladder trying to get the courage to step down. But I did it and survived. And hopefully, I don't have to get back up there until next year.

Once we were done and the boys were home, we turned them on long enough to show them and take a picture. They will not be turned on again until Thanksgiving evening, when we will fully jump into the holiday season.
