Gym Head?

Saturday Mark and I had the privilege to go to the NCAA 2nd round games in Portland which included Washington vs. Purdue and Gonzaga vs Western Kentucky U. We were not planning on going, but tickets just happened to fall into our hands. Thanks to my mom's friend/coworker, Paula, who had extra tickets and offered them to my parents, who didn't want to spend the money so offered them to us. SWEET! It was an amazing experience highlighted by the Gonzaga last minute shot to win and send them to the Sweet Sixteen. Simply Incredible- It is an experience I won't soon forget.

When we got home from the game, I told Mark that I had "gym head". He did not know what that meant. I explained it was a condition my parents use to get after spending too much time in a gym watching basketball. It includes a headache from over stimulation of loud noises (buzzer, clapping, balls dribbling, fans cheering), bright lights, stuffiness, smell of sweat, etc. Kind of like a basketball hang over.

The next morning, Mark said he had a different type of "gym head". His symptoms were an inability to sleep due to reliving the game in his head, and continued high/excitement from watching your team win a nail biter.

Have you ever experienced "gym head" by either definition? Should it be a real condition?

I've never heard this term before and I don't recall ever thinking to myself, "wow, I've got a super-fan hangover."

Though, with that said...I do feel a step slow today and missing the non-stop, wall-to-wall, incredible basketball action of the last four days! Maybe, I've got couch head?

I'm sooooooooooooooo jealous that you got to go to the game!!! Of course the one time they play in the tournament anywhere near us, let alone THE CITY WHERE I LIVE, it happens to be the week I'm in Europe. Not that I can complain...but STILL!!

And yep, I totally know what you're talking about.
