The first part of our summer!

Since my last post, we have wrapped up the baseball season. Both boys had a good season and learned a lot.

On the Fourth of July, the kids decorated their bikes and walked in the Felida Children's parade. We had a blast and really enjoyed getting involved in our new neighborhood.

After the parade, we told Trent it was time to take off the training wheels. Trent protested and claimed he couldn't ride without them, He was a good sport and gave it a shot anyways. We went out to the road, I was prepared to give him a push and hold on as we went along. However, he just rode off without hesitation. He rode all the way down the street and even turned around and came back without falling. He is a natural. He has been busy speeding around the block on his big boy bike.

We put the training wheels on the smaller bike and Becca off she went too.

And a few more photos from early summer

Next up? An update of our wonderful trip to Sacramento to visit Cara and Matt.

Summertime

It took awhile for summer to arrive in the Pacific Northwest, but now that it is here, we are working hard to enjoy every minute of it.

We've been playing in pool:

Watching Trent play summer soccer:

Going to parks and playgrounds:

Took a trip to the zoo & visited the dinosaurs:

Becca's been sporting mini-pig tails:

Squirting water at each other (or just laughing at Becca squirting herself in the face):
Tending to the garden- We are already enjoying eating onions, lettuce, snap peas, our first two blueberries, carrots and the couple strawberries the bunny left for us.

Poising for pictures:

And in general, just staying busy soaking up the sun:

Our Summer Routine.

I have neglected my blog for the past week or more, so here is a little update. We are working on settling into a summer routine, but it hasn't happened yet. Maybe that is our summer routine; the lack of routine.

The boys have started swim lessons, which they LOVE! We have been frequenting the library. The boys are participating in the summer reading program and have already read 14 hours. We've walked to the park, visited the school playground, and logged many hours in the back yard. Our little garden has tons of green onions (which the boys munch on for an afternoon snack), tomatoes are coming and our we tried our first sugar snap peas this week. Mark tiled our new back splash in the kitchen, getting us one step closer to finally completing our kitchen remodel. And I have been putting some extra hours in at work catching up on my trainings and covering for my partner as she goes on vacation this week.

Here are a few pictures:

Corbin took this picture of Trent:
