Our Trip to Mount Joy

For spring break, we packed up the crew and flew east to Mount Joy, PA for a big family gathering with the Gish family. The week was all about celebrating this wonderful couple, who have been married 69 years.

And specifically, Pappy, my dad's dad, whose 90th birthday is this month.
On Saturday for the big party & family pictures, we had the whole crew represented: Grandma & Pappy, their 6 kids, 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren (which is now 19 since baby Jude was born Monday), and 2 great great grandchildren, plus all the spouses. It was incredible that everyone was there to celebrate.

I was excited to be able to introduce Becca to the family, specifically Grandma & Pappy.
And I am pretty sure they were equally as excited to meet her.

Another highlight was getting to see Matt & Cara again, and to meet their new puppy, Bounce.

The boys had a blast hanging out with all the cousins:

While Becca really enjoyed playing with Pappy's cane:

We stayed with my dad's brother, Uncle Keith & his wife, Aunt Donna. They were wonderful host. Keith & Donna have a granddaughter about Becca's age. The girls & their grandpa's had fun together:

We were fortunate enough to leave a very rainy Washington for an above average Pennsylvania- where we had sunshine and temperatures in the 70s all week. It was beautiful. We made sure to enjoy the weather by taking the kids to the park:

We also made sure to visit Hershey's Chocolate World to get our fill of candy!

It was a very busy week- the kids resorted to taking naps in the car:

Overall, it was a wonderful visit, despite a very unwelcomed stomach bug that was passed around (Boo!) I only wish we could have stayed longer. It was so hard to say goodbye.
Happy Anniversary Grandma & Pappy! 69 years together is a lot to celebrate, we were so happy to be part of the festivities!

And a very Happy 90th Birthday Pappy!
