The Mischief Machine

Tomorrow, we are leaving bright and early on vacation to Mount Joy, PA. So today is jammed packed trying to get the house clean & organized, and pack for all five of us. The one hiccup getting in my way: Miss Becca the Mischief Machine. While I set the boys up with play dough and they have been happily entertained for the past two hours,

Becca has been up to no good.

Just this morning, Becca has suddenly figured out how to open doors, meaning the whole house is hers to explore.

I quickly busted out the child proof door handles, but seeing we only have 3, I had to prioritize which doors Becca shouldn't have access to. The winning doors- the boys room, bathroom and hall closet. (I originally put the third one on the master bedroom, but changed my mind after Becca opened the hall/game closet and dumped out several games)

Then when I went to start laundry, I opened the washer to find Becca has turned it into toy storage.

Next the Mischief Machine figured out how to pull out the dresser drawers and use them as steps to reach the top of our dressers causing even more trouble.

And if that wasn't enough trouble, Becca figured out how to climb up onto our bed, another task she has never done before. And start unpacking what I was packing.

Overall, I have not been very successful getting ready to go. So the new plan, wait til Becca is napping and try to be very quick and efficient and get it all done then.

Wow! That's a lot to accomplish in one day (for both you and Becca)! I really can't imagine packing for 5. And definitely can't imagine doing it while a mischief machine causes trouble.

Glad you're packing though...it means I get to see you all very soon!!!
