The Ape Caves

I had the weekend off from work, so we decided we better go someplace outside of cell range just because we could. Our choice escape- hiking for 1 1/2 miles under ground through the lower part of the Ape Caves. The kids have never been to the caves and thought it was thrilling.

After exploring the cave, we had lunch and went for another hike over some different lava beds. The kids were able to crawl through some small lava tubes.

It was a gorgeous day! We enjoyed seeing the beauty of Mount St. Helens, the kids played in the snow, and basked in the sunshine.

How great! Steve and I were just reminising yesterday about our visit to the Ape Caves a few years back.
