"Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it SNOW!

Well, the Portland/Vancouver area has officially been hit with snow! It started last week with a pretty minor dusting on Wednesday/Thursday (which did cause them to cancel school, much to Corbin's dislike). This was literally all the snow we had, it was pretty sad! School was cancelled, I had to work from home, and the boys were more than restless. I was just hoping for enough snow to actually enjoy. Well, I guess my hope was realized when Saturday we got 5-6 inches, which was then quickly covered by a sheet of ice Saturday Night. Followed by another several inches on Sunday/Monday. The Portland/Vancouver area has virtually shut down. Mark has been off work for most of the past week, and we have been busy playing! We have enjoyed taking walks in the falling snow together. Today, we put on the chains and ventured out to my parent's house for a much needed escape and a serious afternoon of sledding. Sounds like we could get a bit more snow this week before it starts to melt away. White Christmas anyone? I still need to finish my Christmas Shopping, hopefully I can do that tomorrow. Here are some more pictures of the "Artic Blast 2008" (as the local news stations are calling it)

Mark made this mini snowman (approximately 18 inches tall) with our original snowfall on Thursday, and here is how he looked semi-buried after Saturday's snow. Corbin trying to catch snowflakes on his tongue on Saturday.: Trent enjoying the snow:

Trent loved sledding, but HATED coming up and insisted someone pulled him:

Corbin was a die-hard sledder, he was up and down the hill so fast without pause. I enjoyed watching him. It reminded me of sledding down the same hill as a kid.

Cara and Matt managed to just beat the really bad weather and arrived safely to the NW from Knoxville. We are so thrilled to have them here to share in our sledding adventures and to celebrate Christmas!
