We arrived on my birthday and had a great birthday dinner.
The next day we spent exploring Old Town Sacramento which included a trip to the candy store, watching period themed re-enactments & performances, and finally a picnic lunch.
Monday we enjoyed a trip to the neighborhood park and then the afternoon at an aquatic center. I must have forgotten my camera that day, but needless to say we had a lot of fun!!
Tuesday, we headed to the Bay area for a three day adventure. Our trip started with a trip to the jelly belly factory.
Then to downtown San Fransisco to Ghirardelli Square & Fisherman's Wharf.
In the afternoon, we met up with my dear friend Sarah for some swimming and a picnic dinner. It was a perfect visit.
Wednesday, we headed to Half Moon Bay and spent the day at the Beach with Petra & Marshall.
That evening, Steve cooked us a delicious dinner and we enjoyed catching up with good friends.
Thursday, we went back to San Fransisco and rented bikes to bike across the Golden Gate Bridge. I was nervous how our little family would fare on this big adventure, but it was amazing. Mark pulled the trainer with Becca & Trent and Corbin & I rode a tandem bike. Once across the bridge, we rode into Sausalito and caught the ferry back to SF. All around it was an Amazing Day!
Just starting out- see the bridge in the background:

Thursday night, we returned to Sacramento for more quality time with Cara & Matt including a crazy game of Quelf (an absolutely absurd & exceptionally silly game).
Friday, we took it easy, hit the slip & slide, and enjoyed a lovely patio dinner.
Saturday was our last day California and we wanted to go out with a BANG. A trip to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom was just the ticket. Unfortunately, we did not bring a camera into the park. Corbin was our thrill seeker and loved going on all the roller coasters and thrill rides. Trent, Becca and I spent a good portion of the day in the kiddie area & zoo. We stayed until the park closed. It was a day I will never forget- seeing the joy, wonder & thrill on the kids faces & sharing it with Cara and Matt. On our way home from the park, we stopped by In & Out Burger, a must stop for any California trip.
Early Sunday morning we left. We were all sad to return home. It was a wonderful vacation. We loved our time with family & friends. We made memories we will cherish for a long time.
Just in case I haven't included enough pictures in the post. Here are a few more:
